Jazz guitarist Norman Brown's musical styling successfully blends elements of jazz, pop, funk and R&B. After being discovered by TV composer Jay Chattaway while playing for spare change at Grand Central Station, Marion Meadows' career got a kickstart, leading to recordings with artists like The Temptations, Eartha Kitt and Michael Bolton. His own solo career has yielded several successful albums throughout the past decade, including his latest, 'Player's Club.' Vocalist Peabo Bryson was among the premier silky-voiced soul artists who emerged as the softer, more sophisticated urban contemporary sound became dominant in the '70s and '80s. Jazz keyboardist Jeff Lorber helped coin the term "New Adult Contemporary" (NAC) with his blend of funk, R&B, rock and eclectic jazz.
