The mighty Frisell/Laswell/Maher Massacre comes instantly to mind, as does the impossible prog of the Ruins. And Glenn Branca's guitar grandeur. And, and, and. I grew up looking at ducks and beavers, too, but I can still stare at that platypus and marvel at what a strange, wonderful, eccentric thing it is, and be thankful that there is no God to prevent such a freakish conglomeration of parts to come together. - Philadelphia City Paper
