Chris Hanna, artistic director at the Virginia Stage Company, will discuss the challenges encountered in writing his play about the 1958-1959 Norfolk Public Schools’ closing, Line in the Sand. The historical playwright will highlight the conflicts that existed between public record, personal memory, and theatrical imagination.
