The Empty Bottle welcome back afrobeat group NOMO, an ensemble that features members of a widely disparate set of groups, coming together to create rousing 'post-afrobeat' jams that are noted for their hot horns and heavy percussion. On their last release via Ubiquity Records, Ghost Rock, NOMO experimented with different ideas and a bigger, more orchestral sound and we can’t wait to be bowled over by the sextet tonight. As they break through the rafters and fly through the skies of Chicago on brooding yet ethereal clouds of distortion, Chicago's own DEL REY return, opening what is sure to be a mind-melding evening of experimental instrumental rock.

NOMO's roots are firmly planted in the fertile soil of African polyrhythm and American free jazz, and bandleader Elliot Bergman's tracks draw inspiration from cultures and generations wildly different than his home setting.
