Nomad Willy burst onto the music scene in the summer of 2008, emerging from the tenacious vision of a transplanted Jazz drummer (Preacherman) and a timely Roots guitarist (DanO). Together they sought and found a soulful bassist (Tazz) and a superb vocalist (Molly B). Four months old, the band boost their sound with a brilliant keyboardist (Doc Yankee). The Nomad Mojo is now 'unstoppable in every way'. Nomad Willy's image and sound are universally appealing, and gain them the love, attention, and approval of each audience that they touch with their unique brand of blues, soul, and funk. As one local writer described the band, 'a sure thing.' In a few short weeks, Nomad Willy found themselves opening for national acts and packing local and regional venues. The name Nomad Willy came about as spontaneously as the band did. It incorporates the fun, energetic spirit of the band playing on Blues history and legend. The name itself evokes a rich legacy -as does the music of the band. With this sudden serge of popularity it seemed as if Nomad Willy 'appeared out of nowhere' as one local promoter noted. Their insatiable desire to perform has earned them a reputation for satisfying any scene or niche. It's obvious enough that local music publication writers and listeners alike are saying 'Nomad Willy is here to stay.'
