Art Battles pit local street artists against classically trained ones in a contest to create a work of art in front of an audience. A live art show, it allows people to watch the process of creation and choose the winner. Artists work on blank canvases while the audience watches the process and chooses the winner.
The next Art Battle will take place at Nolita House, which just opened at 47 East Houston Street (between Mulberry and Mott). The cover is $15 ($10 with student ID) and includes signature appetizers such as spicy grilled chicken wings, peach and habanero barbeque rib tips, and mini mac & cheese. Drink specials will also be offered. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (212) 625-1712.
