NOLA NOW Part II June 10, 2012

NOLA NOW is an online database -- to be launched in early 2012 -- initiated by the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC), New Orleans in the spring of 2011. The database serves to document current work by visual artists living and working in greater New Orleans (Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, and St. Tammany parishes). The content was compiled, edited, and uploaded by artists who will be invited to update these artist pages annually. The long-term goal of this endeavor is to promote and present this valuable resource to arts institutions, curators, and writers across the globe in an effort to bring greater exposure to the vibrant arts scene in New Orleans. A two-part exhibition of the same name, curated from the NOLA NOW database, will be on view at the CAC. These exhibitions are part of the CAC's 35th Birthday program focusing on past, present, and future work by local artists.
