In 1939, Bolivia was one of the few countries in the world to allow Jewish immigration. In the city of Cochabamba, there were once more than two thousand Jews. Today, there are fewer than one hundred. No Way to Say Goodbye is the story of this dwindling Jewish community as seen through the eyes of director Jonas Jacobs. The film is both an intimate portrait of a community in peril and a quest to define a modern Jewish identity. A Q&A with director Jonas Jacobs follows the screening. (Bolivia/USA, 2010, 40 min. No MPAA rating. In English and Spanish with English subtitles.)
