Ninth Painting: A Case Study of Trans-Himalayan Art September 21, 2010

ohn Johnston, Coates-Cowden-Brown Curator of Asian Art presents an illustrated exploration of the interconnectivity of Buddhist kingdoms and cultures in the Himalayan region. In addition, Mr. Johnston will also present images of a rare and unpublished set of nine Tibetan paintings, the only known complete set of this type including the long lost 'Ninth Painting,' that he found in Bhutan.
