Established in the state of Manipur, India, in 1976, Ratan Thiyam’s Chorus Repertory Theatre combines traditional styles of performance and contemporary theater to create a powerful and dramatic experience. Thematically, Thiyam draws on epic stories and mythologies, good and evil, war and peace. His holistic approach to production, with all members of the company trained in acting, dance, music, martial arts, stage craft, and design, results in a highly accomplished and spectacular performance style.
