Winner of the 1982 Tony Award for Best Musical, 'Nine' is based on Federico Fellini's film, '8 1/2.' featuring a book by Arthur Kopit, with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston. Guido Contini, a womanizing film genius, struggles against the onset of middle age and writer's block in order to forge a happy life in the arms of his wife and true love, Luisa. He and Luisa travel to a spa, where Guido hopes to both patch things up with his wife and work on his next story. His producer and mistress, however, soon arrive and create obstacles in his search for peace of mind.
