The Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs Association (CAA) presents a unique way to view the incredible display of the Northern Lights. Bryan White, Astrophotographer, uses 3D photography to transport the audience to a magical place where the Aurora Borealis or Northern Light dances nightly in the pristine night sky. The Aurora Borealis rarely visits the lower 48 states, so very few Americans have ever seen this magnificent display of nature.
Bryan starts the program with a five-minute introduction. The program starts with 3D images of the Sun and magnetic field of the Earth supplied by NASA. This graphically and effectively demonstrates the cause of the Aurora. During the show ethereal space music by Jonn Serrie is played while Bryan narrates about the images and his adventures experienced during its filming. Afterwards, Bryan answers the questions about the Aurora which Prelude Lake always generates. The program can also includes seven-minute 3D shorts on Yellowstone, Chaco Canyon and Colorado Alpine Flowers. These programs bring additional remote locations to the public who may not have either the time or resources to experience them.
This unique program will be presented on Saturday, January 16 at the Recreation Center at Southridge, 4800 Mc Arthur Ranch Rd., from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $7 for Highlands Ranch Community Association members and $10 for guests who are not members and may be purchased by calling 303-471-8859 or visiting any Highlands Ranch Community Association facility. Tickets will be $10 the day of the event, if it is not sold out. This program is sponsored in part by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District.
