Nickel and Brass Septet June 20, 2008

Nickel and Brass is a series of new musical works composed by Andrew Boscardin to be premiered on June 20 at 8pm at the Chapel Performance Space, 4649 Sunnyside Ave. N, Seattle. The pieces – combining elements of jazz, rock, new music and improvisation – feature a unique ensemble with an emphasis on the low brass and the electric guitar and their combined range of sonic possibilities. Along with Boscardin on guitar, the band features Chris Stover on trombone, Ben Thomas on vibes, Clark Gibson on saxophones, Tom Varner on French horn, Jon Hamar on bass, and Brad Gibson on drums. The concert is presented with support from the City of Seattle Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs.
