The Next Generation Protein Therapeutics Summit, hosted by IBC Life Sciences, brings together five conference themes: Beyond Antibodies, Protein Engineering & Design, Protein Therapeutics Delivery, Synthetic Biology, and Immunogenicity of Biologics in one venue, to discuss the emerging wave of proteins and biologics being explored for therapeutic potential. Novel scaffolds progressing through the clinic, new approaches to improve functionality of proteins, novel protein engineering and design techniques and advances in synthetic biology are opening up a wealth of opportunities for drug development. This summit will highlight numerous programs in preclinical and clinical development and explore solutions to some of the continuing challenges of biopharmaceutical drug development, including protein delivery and immunogenicity.
Ira Pastan, Chief, Laboratory of Molecular Biology, National Cancer Institute, will present an abstract about "Deimmunizing immunotoxins by removal of B cell epitopes immunotoxins are active in B cell malignancies but less effective against solid tumors."
