To help Red Sox fans gear up for Opening Day, Newbury Fine Arts will host famed sports artist Opie Otterstad as he unveils “Boston Champs II” commemorating the 2007 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox. Bostonians will get a chance to view Otterstad’s tribute art show including “Boston Champs II” and other Red Sox-related artwork. This special viewing is free and open to the public, and Otterstad will be on hand for a meet-and-greet and to answer questions from the crowd.
In addition to “Boston Champs II,” Otterstad will exhibit his other masterpieces immortalizing current Red Sox players and Sox legends from previous decades. A special sculpture entitled “Victory” featuring Jonathan Papelbon and Jason Varitek will also be revealed that day. Only 33 sculptures were created, symbolic of the number 33 that Jason Varitek adorns on his Boston Red Sox uniform.
Any person, who purchases one of Otterstad’s limited edition artwork, entitles them admission into the exclusive gala party the following night also at Newbury Fine Arts.
