New York Junior League's 2008 Spring Auction "The Future is Green" April 11, 2008

Help the New York Junior League beautify New York at its ninth annual NYJL Spring Auction, “The Future is Green”. There will be an elegant cocktail reception that includes an abundance of delicious hors d’oeuvres, premium open bar and dancing. This special evening includes a live auction and a silent auction and free admission to an amazing after-party at Marquee.

Since 1992, the New York Junior League (NYJL) Playground Improvement Project has revitalized neglected playgrounds and parks throughout Manhattan. This year, several hundred NYJL volunteers, neighborhood residents, employees from the Parks Department, corporate sponsors and service organizations will dedicate an estimated 10,000 volunteer hours to landscape, paint and restore one of Manhattan’s parks.

As one of the largest volunteer service organizations in New York City, the NYJL has more than 3,000 volunteers. More than 60 committees support the community needs of New York City as well as the institutional needs of the organization. Its purpose is improving the lives of women and children in Manhattan by working with 30 community-based organizations and public agencies to deliver services and assistance directly to those in need.
