Chicago hometown heroes Alkaline Trio will headline Metro’s New Year’s Eve concert event on December 31, 2011. For Alkaline Trio, 2011 has been a year of celebration, and they’ll cap off that year with a night to remember as Metro rings in 2012. Not only did the band spend the year celebrating their 15th anniversary with a special tour and the release of their latest album “Damnesia,” they also played two very special sold out shows at Metro in August.

Since forming in Chicago in 1996, Alkaline Trio has continued to amass a devoted cult following with their infectious punk hooks and darkly dramatic tongue-in-cheek lyrics, Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Matt Skiba, bassist/vocalist Dan Andriano and drummer Derek Grant, the band has created some of punk’s most memorable songs and influences the generation of musicians that followed in their footsteps. Their most recent release, July’s “Damnesia”, features a selection of beloved fan favorites selected from the group’s extensive catalogue and presented in an intimate-semi unplugged format.

For this special New Year’s Eve celebration, we will have a midnight toast with the “Champagne of Beers” for those 21 & over. Additionally, all ticket purchasers will receive a free exclusive, limited-edition poster.
