“Silent Service: The Story of the USS Growler Submarine” takes guests on 45-minute tour of the former USS Growler, the world’s oldest existing nuclear missile-carrying submarine. Highlights include up-close looks at the periscopes, forward and aft torpedo tubes, diesel engines, tight living quarters and the mess area where the men ate and relaxed. The “Silent Service: The Story of the USS Growler Submarine” tour will take place Saturdays at 9:00 AM starting on January 29.
Tours are $20 for adults, $15 for children (ages 3-17). Tours are most appropriate for ages 10 and up. Advance reservations are recommended and can be made at http://www.intrepidmuseum.org/The-Intrepid-Experience/Guided-Tours.aspx.
