Flamenco classes meet on Sundays, April 22-May 20, 2012:
Section 1. 1:30-3pm - BEGINNING/INTRODUCTION to FLAMENCO - Learn basic steps, footwork, patterns, beautiful arm and hand gestures, turns, and footwork in this essential class. Learn the basics of Tangos Gitanos and Sevillanas.
Section 2. 3:00-4pm - INTERMEDIATE FLAMENCO - Learn more complex patterns, footwork, turns, marking/choreographic steps and more in this great class. All students with at least 6 months-1 year of flamenco training are eligible to enroll. We'll be learning Alegrías de Cádiz in this class - a wonderful dance from southern Spain, which includes footwork, rhythm, palmas, turns, marking steps, beautiful arms, and dance sequencing: Entrada, llamada, letra, silencio, castellana, escobillas, and the finale, Bulerias de Cádiz.
FEES:
$60 per section + $15 per section for the guitarist's fee = $75 total
You may enroll in class the first day of class with cash or a check made out to LACC; pre-enrollment is highly recommended.
Please bring hard-heeled shoes and a long, flowing skirt (women), and heeled boots (men) to these classes.
