What are you doing Saturday afternoons this Fall? Wouldn’t you like to be dancing, painting, exploring and making interesting “things” by yourself and collaboratively with other kids and adults and having a ball while helping others?

Then jump on Spoke the Hub’s newest creative bandwagon this fall and join STH Founder/Director, Elise Long, on a multi-disciplinary adventure that expands the innate “generosity” of heart and mind - within ones’ self and towards others — and uses those explorations and discoveries as a springboard for creative actions and altruism.

The Creative Clubhouse will meet Saturdays from 2:30-5:00pm at the STH Re:Creation Center, beginning Saturday October 29, 2011.

Our fall projects will include:
• Creating an original performance work to be performed at STH's Student/Faculty Benefit in December
• Creating a new art exhibit for the STH Re:Creation Center Gallery on Union Street
• Creating original, colorful holiday greeting cards/prints to sell at fundraisers for a charity of participants’ choice (Print-maker and master teacher, Gail Flanery, will be our first guest artist/instructor for this printmaking project)
• Developing and executing a personal project and public service that is meaningful to the individual as well as the recipients

Thanks to a recent grant from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, STH can offer these exciting new 2.5 hour Creative Clubhouse workshops to young people and adults at a subsidized rate of $150 for a 14-week term. Kids younger than age 8 are welcome to take part but must come with an adult.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
