First settled by Jewish and German trades people, Carver became a vibrant African-American neighborhood in the early 1900's and today is a diverse mix of students, singles, young families and elderly residents. The walk passes several schools, churches, businesses and examples of Greek Revival, Italianate and Queen Anne style architecture.
Meet your guide near the flagpole at the Maggie L. Walker Governor's School, 1000 N. Lombardy Street (at W. Leigh).
