This lecture will explore the complexities of black communities in the urban environment and will look at radical new ways of addressing the problems associated with gang culture. It will highlight the work of the Centre for Urban and Community Research which is exploring new modes of inhabiting, imagining and making cities from progressive black and culturally diverse perspectives.
