Neverland: A Tribute to the King of Pop is a 15-piece tribute to one of the most amazing entertainers in the world, Mr. Michael Jackson. Based in San Francisco, the group was formed by local producer and agent Mark O'Hara in March of 2009 to honor Michael's musical genius and legendary showmanship. With five lead vocalists, four horns and a six piece rhythm section, the ensemble is best described as a "Rocking and Remarkable MJ Musical Revue". Neverland plays all of Jackson's classic hits including Billie Jean, ABC, Don't Stop Till You Get Enough, Rock With You and Thriller. Rather than be limited by a MJ impersonator and pre-recorded backing tracks, the band's unique approach is to celebrate the larger than life performances, imagination and infectious spirit of this legendary artist. Other Events at Downtown Redwood City's 2009 Summer Series
Along with Music on the Square, other exciting FREE evening events include: Movies on the Square on Thursdays, Dancing on the Square on Tuesdays, and Jazz on Main St. on Mondays. Other ongoing events in the coming months include six special outdoor exhibits featuring Art on the Square, Monday and Wednesday afternoon performances with Lunchtime on the Square, Sunday Swing Dancing with Lindy on the Square, as well as weekend Shakespeare performances, Sunday Target Family Days, and Cultural Events.
