Because 56 percent of women leave the technology field in mid-career, Excelsior College and the New York State Capital District of the Society of Women Engineers have teamed up to present a special live, on-campus event on September 21, in which local women in technology and academia will discuss what attracted them to their chosen field, challenges they encountered along the way, and how they overcame them. The panel, beginning at 12 pm, will also consider the present roles of women in technology and ways to attract more women to the field.
Panelists will include Dr. Jane LeClair, Dean of Excelsior College’s School of Business & Technology, Tobi Saulnier, CEO of 1st Playable Productions, Sheila Brey, Senior Project Manager, Entergy Corporation, Debra Brovich, HR Manager, GE Global Research, and Adrian Skinner, Senior Specialist at Wind, a GE Subsidiary. Melissa Ferraro, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory Inc Engineer and NYSCD SWE President will moderate.
