Glorya Kaufman presents Dance at the Music Center is pleased to welcome European contemporary dance group Nederlands Dans Theater I (NDT I). Innovative choreography, unparalleled theatricality and extraordinary dancers make NDT I an inspiration to many of today’s most noted and celebrated modern choreographers and dance companies. For its special, two-night engagement in Los Angeles, the company will perform The Second Person, choreographed by Crystal Pite. It is a mesmerizing and haunting work with a breathtaking finale. Also on the program is Silent Screen, by NDT I resident choreographers Paul Lightfoot and Sol León. Inspired by the silent film genre, this piece incorporates striking visuals and is propelled by the abstract and profoundly emotional music of Philip Glass.
