The first day of the fair was perfect! Thought it was going to be cloudy but it turned out to be sunny all day. My daughter, grandson and I played golf with the MacCrakkens, watched the Joust and ate turkey legs. I've got a sunburn, but it was fun. My husband and I plan to be back tomorrow, I want to shop for pottery, and handmade soap...
I wouldn't have minded paying the $11 if there had been more offered. I'm from CA and while I wasn't expecting it to be as large or fantastic, I was expecting something considering the cost was about the same. In CA, there are FAR more (quality) shows that accompany that $11 admission. There are also a lot more vendors and more! I was there early on Sunday and they had sold out of turkey legs... Not that it was the reason I went there, but no turkey legs at the Ren Faire; are you kidding?
On the positive side of things... the cole slaw was good and the geese that were dressed up were cute. The joust was entertaining, though brief. (Be sure to bring a chair or you'll have to stand). Otherwise, though I've been a huge fan of the Ren Faire for many years, I'm sorry to say... save your money! I've heard that the Ren Faire was great when it was in Iowa.

I loved this last year! Jousters, Jesters and Turkey legs. Lots of Vendors and neat things to see and do.
Great for the whole family. And kids under 5 are free!
