The Alliance for Veteran Support (AVS) will present its second annual Initiative at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum (Pier 46 at 700 W. 46th Street at West Side Highway) honoring the U.S. veterans community on September 20th, 2012 at 8PM. The star-studded event - featuring headlining artists Grammy-Award winning R&B artist Ne-Yo and alternative rock group Third Eye Blind – brings together the New York financial community to benefit The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Wall Street Warfighters Foundation, the American Widows Project, the Center for Veterans’ Mental Health within the Program for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Studies at the Weill Cornell Medical College’s Department of Psychiatry, and the Veteran/Amputee Skin Regeneration Project at the Department of Dermatology at John Hopkins Medicine.
“We are always looking for ways to honor our servicemen and women,” Omar S. Itum, Chairman of the Alliance for Veteran Support, Inc. said. “This event is a great way of saying thank you – a concert in their honor that also benefits amazing organizations.”
