Merve Nur Sari, a former Study of the U.S. Institute (SUSI) student at Nazareth College, will be singing classical Turkish songs as well as American jazz numbers in a special concert at Nazareth College’s Linehan Chapel on Friday, September, 23 at 7 p.m. Nazareth College is located at 4245 East Ave, Rochester, NY, 14618. Sari, from Istanbul, Turkey, will be singing while accompanied by piano, Kanun and Darbuka (traditional Turkish instruments). The musicians are from the Turkish Society of Rochester. Following the concert, there will be a reception with refreshments and Turkish desserts.
Sari studied at Nazareth College in the summer of 2008. Afterwards, she graduated from Halic University in Istanbul, Turkey. Continuing her education, Sari received a master’s in social media in business administration from Yeditepe University in Turkey. Currently, she has been working as a project development assistant at Yeditepe University. Sari has been performing with TRT National Turkish Radio and TV since 2005.
