The Nazareth College School of Education presents well-known urban education expert Greg Michie, who will present Between Miracles and Metal Detectors: Teaching and Learning In Urban Schools. The lecture is on Monday, October 18, at 6 p.m. in the Nazareth College Arts Center, room A14. It is open to the public. For more information, contact Brian Bailey at (585) 389-2764. Michie, PhD, is a professor of Foundations, Social Policy, and Research at Concordia-Chicago’s College along with teaching courses in the college’s Graduate and Innovative Programs. His areas of interest include urban education, multicultural education, narrative research as well as students’ and teachers’ experiences in the school environment. He taught for nine years in Chicago Public Schools, where he developed a media literacy course and a video-production program for middle school students.
