The Coolidge Corner Theatre presents an encore broadcast of the London National Theatre’s stage production of NATION, an exhilarating adventure tale of survival and self-discovery based on the best-selling book by Terry Pratchett. The play, filmed live at the legendary National, will be presented on the Coolidge's giant screen in stunning high-definition.
NATION takes place in a parallel world, 1860. Two teenagers are thrown together by a tsunami that has destroyed Mau’s village and left Daphne shipwrecked on his South Pacific island, thousands of miles from her aristocratic home in England. Neither speaks the other’s language; somehow they must learn to survive. Together they come of age as they discard old doctrine to forge a new Nation.
Bravura performances, live music, and thrilling dance combine to bring to life the spectacular and surprising world of Terry Pratchett's NATION.
