The University of St. Thomas Social Justice Committee invites you to participate in National SleepOut Saturday (NSOS). The purpose of NSOS is to create appreciation, empathy, understanding and action through a shared experience focusing on homelessness across the United States.
Participants are encouraged to bring the bare minimum for the SleepOut event, as the objective is to see what it is like to go without our daily comforts. We strongly discourage tents, iPods and bringing an abundance of snacks, as the homeless often do not have the luxury of choosing when they will eat.
We recommend participants bring the following items only: sleeping bag, blanket, pillow and a notebook to document your experience. This event will take place rain or shine. Parking is $2 in the Moran Center Garage; this is a free event.
