National Pilgrim Virgin Statue to Visit St. Mary Immaculate Parish
All are invited and encouraged to St. Mary Immaculate Parish in Plainfield to see this beautiful Statue of Our Lady of Fatima and learn our Lady’s message for obtaining peace.
On Sunday, August 9th from 6:00 pm through Monday afternoon at 4:00 pm, our parish will be honored to host the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of the USA, as it carries the important message of Fatima to the United States, a message Pope John Paul II said is more important today than ever.
The National Pilgrim Virgin of the USA was blessed by Pope Paul VI in Fatima on May 13, 1967, during the 50th anniversary celebration of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima. The National Pilgrim Virgin statue was entrusted to the World Apostolate of Fatima USA to bring the Message of Fatima to the people of the United States. It is one of 25 National Pilgrim Virgin Statues blessed by the Holy Father in Fatima and entrusted to the World Apostolate of Fatima for various nations.
St. Mary Immaculate Parish is located at 15629 South Rt. 59 in Plainfield.
Sunday evening, after the 6:00 pm Mass at approximately 7:15 pm, Statue Custodian, William Sockey, will explain how the message of Fatima applies to our country today and discuss what we can do to earn the blessings on our country that Our Lady promised if her requests were fulfilled. The statue will be available for viewing and prayer throughout the night in St. Mary Immaculate Church (weather permitting outdoors) through Monday, August 10th at 4:00 pm.
