More than 1,000 donors, volunteers, leaders and other supporters of nonprofit organizations are expected to attend - making it one of the largest National Philanthropy Day celebrations in the nation. Former Seattle Sounders midfielder Roger Levesque will speak about how becoming engaged with non-profit organizations benefits the community.
National Philanthropy Day honors and supports the efforts and passions of philanthropic leaders and the organizations they serve.

Bob and Micki Flowers - Outstanding Philanthropists
Alaska Airlines - Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation
Girlie Press - Outstanding Small Company

"The current uncertainty of the economy and public funding has underscored the importance of philanthropic leadership to the entire not-for-profit sector," Matt DeGooyer, president of AFP-Washington Chapter and associate executive director of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Northwest Chapter in Seattle. "By honoring these remarkable individuals and organizations we have an opportunity to highlight those whose commitment to humanity is evident wherever we turn in our communities, and around the globe."
