National Heritage Masters: Gospel Caravan January 25, 2008

This celebration of the exhilarating gospel sound features some of the greatest names in gospel, a wealth of gospel traditions, and a rare opportunity to witness the shout or "ring shout," one of the oldest African American performance styles. Featured are two legendary groups - the Blind Boys of Alabama and the Dixie Hummingbirds. Also on the program are virtuoso lap steel guitarist Chuck Campbell and McIntosh County Shouters.
