2009 National Conference on Citizenship, which will be held September 9 at the Library of Congress. Registration is available at http://ncoc.net/conference. Registration is free.
As you may know, the National Conference on Citizenship (NCoC) is a Congressionally chartered nonprofit that measures, tracks, and advocates for civic participation in the areas of political involvement, history and civics education, and national and community service. We were recently named in the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act to expand the reach and impact of our *Civic Health Index*, an annual report that takes the pulse of our nations civic life and has become our countrys definitive measure of civic engagement.
Additionally, we hold an annual event that focuses on the state of civic engagement in America, and is designed to bring together civic leaders, educators, CEOs, and representatives from each of the three branches of government to address issues related to our nations civic health. This years conference is being held September 9, and I hope you will be able to join us.
Themed *Sustainable Impact: A Civic Return on Investment*, this years Conference will explore ways public engagement can lift us out of the tough times our country is facing by challenge the ways ROI is evaluated. NCoC feels it is important to encourage commitment to civic responsibility not only through dollars, but actions, collaborations, and economic decisions.
