National Children's Museum Presents Third Annual Jump Rope
Jump Off! at National Harbor
Museum expands health and safety event to include local police and firemen featuring live safety demonstrations as well as entertainment and hands-on family friendly activities
What:
The National Children's Museum will present the third annual Jump Off! at National Harbor this fall with a special focus on health and safety. The afternoon will feature free, outdoor exhibition performances by nationally renowned Double Dutch jump rope teams along with numerous family friendly activities. Highlights include:
• Stellar performances and workshops by Jump Off! veterans the Greenbelt S.I.T.Y. (Sensational, Inspiring, Talented, Youthful) Stars, Kangaroo Kids, and Youth Sports Jump Rope FX;
• Special guest appearances by Washington Redskins representatives and the Washington Wizard Girls (12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.), who will sign autographs, take pictures, participate in jumping activities, and give a brief performance;
• DJs playing jump-inspiring music; and
• Make-and-take craft activities at the NCM Launch Zone.
In addition, the Museum will continue to highlight community stars by welcoming local heroes who keep us safe, from the Prince George’s County Police and Fire Departments. The day may feature members of the bomb squad and hazmat teams, a real fire truck and fire boat, an ambulance, technical rescue representatives, command center vehicles, a police car and motorcycle, as well as members of the SWAT team. Activities may include:
• Fire safety talks;
• Blood pressure screenings;
• Tips for Fire Prevention Week, with burning “house” demonstrations, 911 calling simulation, smoke detector giveaways, and more.

Where:
Performances will take place on National Harbor’s Plaza Stage with activities happening throughout the plaza. Crafts will take place at the NCM Launch Zone:
