Harry Potter’s bubbling caldron isn’t magic—it’s chemistry!

National Chemistry Week 2010 celebrates science in the movies, on television and in literature with this year’s theme, “Behind the Scenes with Chemistry!”

National Chemistry Week is an annual, community-based event that unites local sections of the American Chemical Society with schools, businesses, and individuals who want to communicate the importance of chemistry to our quality of life. Erie-area events are coordinated by Tracy Halmi, senior lecturer in chemistry at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.
