National Astronomy Day May 2, 2009

Celebrate our amazing universe! Safely view the sun. Build, decorate and launch a bottle rocket. Help create a 120-foot-long, scale model of the solar system at 1 and 3 p.m. Learn about the International Year of Astronomy during a LiveSky planetarium show at 1 p.m. Join us on the museum's front lawn for a special edition of Sky Watch at 8:30 p.m. Members of the Richmond Astronomical Society will help you view features of the night sky through their powerful telescopes. Outdoor events are weather permitting.
