A few months of training. A lifetime of bragging rights. That’s what runners will get when they join the National AIDS Marathon Training Program. Whether a beginner or a more experienced runner, the National AIDS Marathon Training Program will prepare participants to go the distance and raise money to help fight AIDS. Runners will be fully supported every step of the way with both their fundraising and training goals by experienced staff. In the past 11 years, the program has trained more than 20,000 people and raised more than $80 million for the fight against AIDS.

Each participant will be asked to raise between $1,600 and $3,500 for the fight against AIDS, depending upon the event they choose to run.

The 2009 National AIDS Marathon Training Program registration fee is $95, which includes four to six months of training, depending on the event. The program will cover entrance fees for all races. Participants can sign up to train for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Oct. 11, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Chicago Half Marathon on Aug. 2 or the Maui Marathon in Hawaii on Sept. 20.

Participants who complete the training program will also be able to participate in the AIDS Run/Walk on Oct. 3 for free.
