Nashville Symphony: Rachmaninoff & Bruckner April 9, 2011

Sparks will fly at the keyboard when soloist Kirill Gerstein joins the orchestra to perform Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto, a piece overflowing with memorable melodies. Bruckner's monumental Third Symphony will show off the Schermerhorn's acoustical splendor, and this vibrant evening opens with the world premiere of Diaspora by Conni Ellisor, a Nashville-based composer who infuses her work with the sounds of American folk and roots music.
