The practical and commercial application of nanomaterials will be the topic of discussion at our weekly Nano Lunch on Thursday, June 5, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., at the headquarters of the International Association of Nanotechnology and the Clean Tech Institute, 1290 Parkmoor Ave., San Jose.
Guest speaker Dr. Nobuyuki Kambe, CTO, vice president and founder of NanoGram, will discuss how the application of nanomaterials is radically changing the way we store energy through nanostructured composites, how solar power is being improved through the use of crystalline silicon and how nanomaterials are being customized to fit a client’s needs in photonics, electronics and imaging.
Dr. Kambe's extensive background in technology development and commercialization derives from his work as a research manager in semiconductor materials and devices at Nippon Telephone & Telegraph (NTT) and as a managing director at the International Center for Materials Research in Japan. He was the founder of ICMR-USA and is a founder of NanoGram Corporation. Dr. Kambe has published numerous papers and articles on applications of nanomaterials and nano-polymer composites.
An overview of the wide range of clean tech and nanotech training programs offered by the California Institute of Nanotechnology will also be presented (classes start June 2). Networking opportunities will take place before and after the presentation.
