Mycal Ruben, Born Mycal Ruben Alo, grew up with a variety of music in his household which led to him having a desire to pursue music as a career. learning at a young age the fundamentals of the piano by his grandma and mother, he then took those things and trained himself to sight read, as well as the ability to play by ear.

He furthered his education with harmony and theory at West High School in Salt Lake City, and continued as a music major Salt Lake Community College which he then transferred to Musicians Insitute where he continues to develop music ability.

Even though he does have school training for singing, he credits a lot of his growth to Speech Level Singing with instructors Linda Tomkinson and Dean Kaelin. Mycal, Has performed on both sides of the coast as well as some southern states. He has opened for some mainstream artists, as well as many familiar local artists in the pacific islander community.

Being an unsigned artist, he occupies his time doing back up vocals and vocal arrangements for other artists. He started his love for harmony and the ability to create harmony being involved with a local choir in Salt Lake City, UT, Divine Heritage Choir. This choir gave him the ability to experience different harmonies as well as perfecting his songwriting abilities.

Mycal, has been given many opportunities to work with respected talent and continues to find those that will help him as an artist and as an individual. He has an open mind to new ideas and will put his best effort to allow these visions to come to life.
