Comedians Lamont Ferguson and Karen Rontowski take the stage at the Carlsbad Village Theatre for a special (before) Valentines Day stand-up comedy show. Karen Rontowski is a former San Diego resident who is now making her mark amongst the bright lights of Hollywood. You may recognize this funny lady from television. She has appeared on Comedy Centrals Live at Gotham and on the syndicated Comics Unleashed. Karen can also be heard regularly on The Bob and Tom Show. She also carries the impressive credits of having opened for Bob Hope (yes, that Bob Hope) and Ray Charles. She was most recently seen in the TBS Comedy Festival and in the encore production of David Brenners Whats So Funny. Brenner complimented Rontowksi saying, Even if you cant spell Karen Rontowski, you better remember it because she is GREAT! Being single doesnt have to mean that you are obsessed with finding a relationship, says Rontowski. There are so many other trivial things in life to obsess about. Ferguson, who is the creative force behind the West Coast Funnies, will be making a rare appearance on the other side of a production as comedian. This is something that shouldnt be unfamiliar to the man who wears many hats; both literally and figuratively. In addition to writing, producing and directing the monthly comedy variety, he is an accomplished veteran comedian. In a career that has spanned longer than his appearance may show; he has appeared on Comedy Central and Comics Unleashed. In addition to his television credits, he was named LAs Hottest Comic (KMPC radio/The Improv Comedy Club), a finalist in the San Francisco Comedy Competition (the nations longest running contest); a distinction that he shares with great comedy names such as Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, Dana Carvey and Kevin Pollak, and he has the distinguished honor of being the opening act for Bill Cosby, George Lopez, Steve Harvey and the late great George Carlin. The show will be two funny people sharing their limited knowledge of relationships. Karen from the single woman angle and me from the married man angle, says Ferguson.
