The title, 'My America,' speaks to the individualism of artists as they reacted to their worlds -- past and present, social and political, Jewish and secular -- and as they claimed this country as their own. In the first half of the twentieth century, the artists in this exhibition expressed their artistic and social freedoms in styles ranging from Social Realism to Modernism to Abstract Expressionism. An eclectic group of paintings, sculptures, photographs and works on paper is presented in this exhibition.
