Muslim World Music day is an international event celebrating music from outside of the 'western' influence. At Salford, students, staff and members of the community have come together to create a first for Greater Manchester.
The day will be an opportunity for people to experience music, workshops and art and have a bite to eat on the University campus. The atmosphere is designed so people can drop in and out, have some food, listen to music, chat with musicians and relax as well as take part in workshops.
Music will include:
* The Nile Band with guest Emad El-Rashidy
* Raq Sharqi: Samara
* Siamak Nemat Naser
* Griot Jali Nyonkoling Kuyateh
* University of Salford music and dance students
