"The most exciting chamber music in the United States" (Time)

Celebrating its 44th season during 2008-2009, the Musicians from Marlboro touring program was created as an extension of the world-renowned Marlboro Music Festival. The Musicians from Marlboro tours are noted not only for joyous and thorough performances, but also for offering valuable touring experiences to artists at the beginning of their careers. Hailed as "a virtual guarantee of musical excellence" by The Washington Post, The Musicians from Marlboro tour will join PCMS on Thursday, February 19 at the American Philosophical Society for an evening of Haydn, Kodaly, and Brahms.

The following musicians will perform at the February concert: Romie de Guise-Langlois, clarinet; Augustin Hadelich, violin; Karina Canellakis, violin; Sebastian Krunnies, viola; Peter Stumpf, cello. Marlboro Music is widely considered to be the world's leading center for advanced musical studies by professional musicians. Under the artistic direction of Richard Goode and Mitsuko Uchida, Marlboro's emphasis lies on diverse chamber music, abundant rehearsal time, and the pairing in ensembles of different generations of leading musicians. With uncompromising standards, Marlboro performances and the Marlboro community are acclaimed throughout the world.
