The Second Edition was a SMASH. The good kind. Not the NBC-television-series-which-misrepresents-entirely-the-incredible-New-York-musical-theatre-industry kind...
all because of you, our crowd who continues to grow..and Mr Ben Kiley on keys...and Mr Joel Hewlett...and the great Nemo debate from the back of the room...and the backstage message from Patrick R. Brown & the Broadway company of THE LION KING...and the tickets (thanks BASE!) and the CDs (thanks SONY!)...and Soefian, our epic stealth photographer (don't y'all look GOOD?!?!?!) and of course, our showstopping OPEN MIC-ERS!!!

...so much so, that we have some great times comin' your way. Here is the THIRD EDITION of MUSICAL THEATRE MONDAYS...Singapore's monthly musical theatre open mic/news/views/chat/meet night, MONDAY JUNE 18 at Blu Jaz (3rd floor) 12 Bali Lane, 8:30pm (sharp, punks!), $4 entry at the door! ALL ARE WELCOME.

(Please let me know if you want to SING! - by writing on the event wall that you are singing a solo or duet or 11 o'clock number or doing an interpretative dance to an overture, etc etc... Please bring sheet music - if you can't find it, let me know, because I have it. No backing tracks folks, and all pieces must have some kind of six-degrees-of-Patti-LuPone association with musical theatre.)

Recurring every third Monday each month, MUSICAL THEATRE MONDAYS is your chance to...
- sing that song you've always wanted to sing (solo/duet/trio/11 o'clock ensemble number),
- tell that amazing audition story,
- meet other fantastic performers (USS/LaSalle/LaVie/wider Singapore) on this awesome crazy island,
- eat and drink real Blu Jaz-quality stuff,
- and most of all to enjoy the company of people who love what we love...
- and drink more.

THIS MONTH we have exciting stuff lined up indeed. We present the obscenely hillaire Mr Hayden Tee (live from NYC via Skype!) as our Broadway correspondent, we hold a raffle for gift vouchers generously provided by our dear friends and bloody legends at SOUTH COAST, where we are loved and welcomed always (2 bucks could win you one of three $50 vouchers to spend at SOUTH COAST), we give away tickets to everyone's favourite ranga (besides me) - ANNIE - as well as some brilliant CAST RECORDINGS in our Musical Theatre Quiz and Name That Showtune games (brush up your Shakespeare, people. We thank BASE Entertainment and Sony Music Singapore for our prizes), we look at headlines from the world of MT including TONY AWARD WINNERS 2012 and performance/speech highlights from the awards, we welcome our special guest Mr JUAN JACKSON (star of Miss Saigon, Porgy & Bess, The Rocky Horror Show, Showboat and The Kitchen Musical) and of course, we hear from you. Our open mic-ers. Uptempo or ballad. Not 8 bars. Not 16. Not 32... But the entire thing. The open mic-er of the night, as chosen by Mr Juan Jackson, will receive a $50 SOUTH COAST voucher.
