Shulie Cowen and Andrew Melton, the Director and Music Director of Opening Night: The Improvised Musical!, will teach a beginning music improv workshop. The class will be a fun opportunity to play with music in your improv, with a focus on song structure, rhyming, and how you can use music to enhance your work.

ANDREW MELTON has been Musical Director of I.O. West since 2004. After growing up in Asia and receiving degrees from Berklee and USC, he is working as a film composer and improv musician in Los Angeles.

SHULIE COWEN comes to Los Angeles by way of Chicago. She is a graduate of Northwestern University, a former member of The Second City National Touring Company, and a member of the original cast of the long running musical Schoolhouse Rock Live!. She currently performs at The IO West in Los Angeles, where she directs and performs in Opening Night: The Improvised Musical! (every Friday at IO West). Movie and television credits include Curb Your Enthusiasm, Factory, You Don't Mess With The Zohan, Just Like Heaven, How I Met Your Mother and Reno 911!.

June 9th @ 8 pm in "The Armando Show w/ Community's Danny Pudi" in the Mainstage Theater, Thurs. June 10th @ 8 pm in "The Armando Show w/ The Office's Angela Kinsey," and Fri. June 11th @ 9 pm in "Opening Night! The Improvised Musical! ®" in the Mainstage Theater.
