Jonathan Wright, violin and Stephan Moss, piano will offer a program including Hindemith’s Sonata (1939) and Sonata in E (1935), Guy-Ropartz’s Third Sonata in A Major and Walton’s Sonata for Violin and Piano.
Violinist Jonathan Wright grew up in Kent, England, and studied violin with Bernard Partridge. He has performed chamber music widely in England and North America, playing in several ensembles including the Claremont Colleges’ Quartet Euphoria. In addition to his musical prowess, Wright has been a member of the biology faculty at Pomona College since 1998, having earned his B.A. and D.Phil. in Zoology at Oxford.
Pianist Stephan Moss studied piano with Teala Bellini, whose teaching traces back to Clara Schumann. He completed a B.M. in composition at the University of Redlands in 1980, and a D.M.A. in harpsichord performance at Claremont Graduate School in 1987. He has performed both as a harpsichordist and pianist, and is an accompanist at Scripps College. In addition, he works for Pomona College in Information Technology.
