Presented by Austin Music Foundation & The Recording Conservatory of Austin
In today’s DIY music climate, there are more bands out there than ever before. When every band on the planet is just a click away, it’s even harder to break out of the pack and get noticed by music industry pros. Even if you’re a DIY diehard, industry support can lead to greater opportunities, exposure and money.
Join AMF and three LA-based music industry pros for the inside scoop on what your band can do to get the attention of people that matter in music business. Our panelists have experience in A&R, artist management, licensing, booking, producing, and promotion, so they’ve seen success and failure from a variety of vantage points. Learn the real deal from industry insiders and what you can do to set your band up for success.
In addition to tips for success, this Boot Camp will explore the current state of A&R, how the music licensing process works and how indie bands can pitch their music, the new roles of major and indie labels, how the pros learn about new artists, the influence of social media, and more. There will also be a Q&A session.
